The Similarity of the Purpose of the Early and Latter Rain
/Dearest Ones,
I am pleased with each of you who belongs to the expanding MRM group, and I want each one to see yourself as a leader, for you are in that capacity, and people expect you to act as a leader in the sense of caring about each person and nurturing them as being special to you. This brings them courage and a desire to return to this Spirit-filled association of brethren worshipping together in your congregation. Let each one give and receive the love that I am pouring out upon you each Sabbath.
Now I want to expand upon the impression that [Carol] received concerning the similarity of the purpose of the early and latter rain. When the ceremonies in heaven were finished which welcomed me back into my place beside my Father and the beginning of my work as intercessor for the human race, the early rain fell upon the disciples as a witness to them of what had happened in heaven.* This enabled them to keep in constant communication with me in my duties as it had reference to them, in cooperation with my intercessions before my Father. So it will be now. As I finish my intercessory work and my people are prepared to stand the test of going through the great time of trouble without an intercessor, the finished work of my intercessions in the most holy place will be signalized by the outpouring of the latter rain to prepare my people to stand in my character perfection just as I did throughout my life without sin.
So rejoice with me and all of heaven that this time has come when the latter rain is to fall in its greatest capacity as the work in the most holy place is closing. This means that I see the hearts of my people responding to me, just as at the same time many are joining the ranks of the opposition against me. What a sad day it is for my people when so many prominent people are losing their way at such a dangerous time in history. Great will be the weeping when they find out too late that they have taken the wrong course and see their folly only after the door of the ark is shut and the rain begins to fall upon their shelterless heads. Do not weep for them, for they have shut the door of truth for themselves and will not turn back until the door of mercy closes for them. Thus it was for Satan in heaven, and so it will be for many today.
But I have my trusted and true followers, which I hold closely to my heart. These are preparing to see me when I come to receive them to myself. They have drunk the cup of suffering for their sins and borne the cross of Calvary in their hearts in their love for me. And they have not listened to the cunningly devised fables and lies of the enemy to unsettle the faith of the gullible in this generation. So they have to prove their loyalty in a time of apostasy and their devotion in a time when subtle voices of the enemy are being successful in luring the majority to sleep on in their sins until it is too late to turn back.
But my chosen ones are not being swayed in their allegiance to me, but are growing stronger as they face opposition and apostasy. Thus the final harvest of the earth is ripening to maturity, and the subjects of my kingdom are responding to my call to honor me and my eternal truth of perfection of character as a sign of their love for my Father and me, and want to live in our presence with the holy angels who surround my throne and do my bidding with hearts of devotion and joy. It is these who have my approval and it is these that will walk with me in white robes of victory forever. The day is near, my beloved and faithful ones, when your suffering and tears will be over forever and your endless years of happiness and joy will begin. So take your eyes off the troubles and trials of this earthly life and fix them upon me, for it is thus that your faith will be made strong and your characters made pure and holy for eternity.
Now go to your well-earned rest, but never allow your courage and trust to waver, for it will have great recompense of reward when I come to bring you home. Lovingly, Jesus.
*"When Christ passed within the heavenly gates He was enthroned amidst the adoration of the angels. As soon as the ceremony was completed, the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in rich currents, and Christ was indeed glorified, even with the glory which He had with the Father from all eternity." AA 38, 9.
"After Christ's ascension, His enthronement in His mediatorial kingdom was signalized by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit." COL 120.
